President Siljanovska Davkova meets Polish counterpart Duda at Ukraine Peace Summit

Skopje, 15 June 2024 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Saturday with Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda on the sidelines of the Ukraine Peace Summit in Switzerland, exchanging opinions on bilateral relations, regional developments, European integration and global security challenges, as well as the countries’ cooperation as NATO allies.
Siljanovska Davkova and Duda expressed satisfaction from the excellent cooperation based on the traditional friendship, agreeing that both countries share 30-year long ties of mutual respect, trust and understanding, the President’s Office said in a press release.
President Siljanovska Davkova welcomed Poland’s unequivocal support on the long Macedonian road to the EU, adding that Polish experiences would be of enormous benefit in the Union accession process.
The President also reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the EU integration agenda and voiced expectation for strong support from international partners and EU institutions in ensuring there are no hindrances on this path.
Siljanovska Davkova said the European perspective of the candidate-states should not be vetoed due to irrational bilateral issues but the process to move forward exclusively through the prism of the Copenhagen criteria, reads the press release.
