President Siljanovska Davkova meets Montenegrin counterpart Milatović

Skopje, 13 June 2024 (MIA) - Ahead of Thursday's Summit of heads of state and government of the participants in the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), President Siljanovska Davkova met with the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
Siljanovska Davkova and Milatović reaffirmed friendly relations between the two countries and expressed readiness to further improve bilateral ties.
"Talks highlighted the necessity for continuing mutual support and cooperation towards fulfilling mutual strategic goals for European Union membership, and voiced readiness for strengthening regional cooperation with the aim of maintaining stability and economic progress for the countries in the region," the President's Office said in a press release.
President Siljanovska Davkova said the European integration of the countries in the region is of significant importance for stability and development, which is why a clear perspective is needed for joining EU, as well as consistent evaluation and implementation of the Copenhagen criteria.
Interlocutors also expressed readiness to further continue political and security cooperation and partnership within NATO, exchanging views on current political and security developments in the region and Europe. ssh/nn/
