President Siljanovska Davkova meets Kazakhstan counterpart Tokayev in Baku

Skopje, 13 November 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Wednesday with Kazakhstan counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, discussing the friendship between the two countries and exchanging opinions on ongoing geopolitical developments and the regional role of both countries.

As a bridge between Asia and Europe, the President highlighted Kazakhstan's contributions and significant impact in global frameworks, while expressing readiness to continue cooperation and constructiveness within international organizations, especially the UN and OSCE, the President's Office said in a press release.

Talks touched on possibilities for cooperation in the sphere of culture, science, and education, with Siljanovska Davkova emphasizing the need to improve the legal framework, intensifying political dialogue, frequent meetings, exchange of visits and personal contacts.

Siljanovska Davkova also expressed interest in maximizing economic cooperation, trade exchange, investments and cooperation in the sectors of construction, energy, IT and tourism.

Interlocutors also welcomed the opening of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Skopje as an important step towards strengthening bilateral relations, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
