President Siljanovska Davkova meets Azerbaijan counterpart Aliyev
- President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Thursday with Azerbaijan counterpart Ilham Aliyev, on the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku. Minister of Energy, Mining and Minerals Sanja Bozhinovska also attended the meeting.
Skopje, 14 November 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Thursday with Azerbaijan counterpart Ilham Aliyev, on the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku. Minister of Energy, Mining and Minerals Sanja Bozhinovska also attended the meeting.
Siljanovska Davkova and Aliyev exchanged views on the overall friendly bilateral relations between the two countries and commitment for intensifying and strengthening ties in culture, tourism, education, and other areas of mutual interest, her office said.
President Siljanovska Davkova highlighted the Macedonian interest for intensifying economic cooperation, especially in the field of energy, taking into account our interest in diversifying sources of energy supply.
Interlocutors agreed to strengthen economic ties with concrete bilateral agreements and expressed satisfaction with the Memorandum of understanding between Macedonian and Azerbaijani energy companies, signed in Skopje with the aim of strengthening Macedonian energy stability.
She also presented the investment opportunities the country has to offer, while President Aliyev noted the possibility of future infrastructure projects related to the country's gasification.
Siljanovska Davkova complemented the Summit's excellent organization and hospitality. ssh/ba/
