New York, 20 September 2023 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski, who is heading the Macedonian delegation at the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York, is set to address Wednesday a UN Security Council open debate themed "Upholding the purposes and principles of the UN Charter through effective multilateralism: maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine”.

United States President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are also expected to take part at the debate, the President's Office said in a press release.

Later in the day, President Pendarovski will attend a reception on the 30th independence anniversary of the Czech and Slovak Republics and the countries' UN membership, hosted by Presidents Petr Pavel and Zuzana Čaputová.
