President Pendarovski receives letters of credence of newly appointed Azerbaijani ambassador

Skopje, 31 March 2023 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski on Friday received the letters of credence of the newly appointed ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan for North Macedonia, based in Belgrade, Kamil Khasiyev.

At the official handover ceremony, Pendarovski expressed conviction that Khasiyev’s professional engagement will further improve the cooperation between the two countries, whose relations are based on friendship, respect and mutual understanding.

“Allow me to express our sincere preparedness to deepen the bilateral relations and mutual cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. I assure you that we will continue with all necessary activities and initiatives to achieve these goals and improve the political bilateral dialogue, as well as the initiatives to strengthen and expand the spheres of cooperation,” President Pendarovski said in his welcoming address, as per the President’s Office.

Ambassador Khasiyev said in his address that the political relations between both countries are improving, but that deepening of economic cooperation, as well as the areas of energy, agriculture, tourism and investments, where he will pour his personal focus into.

“We believe that the political relations will keep strengthening based on respecting the norms and principles of international law, the UN Charter and the OSCE Helsinki final act, especially in terms of sovereignty, territorial integrity and the invulnerability of international borders,” Ambassador Khasiyev said.

President Pendarovski wished Ambassador Khasiyev success in his diplomatic mission and expressed his willingness to fully support his function. dk/sk/
