President Pendarovski receives credentials of new Thailand and Kuwait ambassadors

Skopje, 30 May 2023 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski received Tuesday credentials of the newly-appointed Ambassador of Thailand, Apirat Sugondhabhirom, based in Ankara, and Ambassador of Kuwait, Gazi Hamed Alfadli, based in Sofia.

Welcoming Ambassador Sugondhabhirom to North Macedonia, President Pendarovski noted that despite the geographical distance, North Macedonia is ready for further improvement of the relationship and cooperation with Thailand in all areas of mutual interest.

"I am deeply convinced that before our two countries, with a rich cultural and historical heritage, stands an enormous unused potential for extensive and fruitful cooperation, especially on an economic level, but also in the sphere of tourism, culture, education, etc.," said President Pendarovski and expressed confidence that necessary activities and initiatives will continue for furthering the bilateral political dialogue.

Ambassador Sugondhabhirom stated that Thailand and North Macedonia have had a cordial relationship ever since establishing diplomatic relations in 2005, and expressed his will to further strengthen the ties between the governmental, parliamentary, and business sector.

"My country has entrusted me with the duty to examine the ways and means of promoting a two-way trade and investment, as well as encourage private sectors, on both sides, to strengthen their mutual business contacts and promote opportunities of building better partnerships, which would lead to the growth of potential of trade and economic ties between our two countries," said Ambassador Sugondhabhirom.

At the handover ceremony of the credentials of the new Kuwait Ambassador, Gazi Hamed Alfadli, President Pendarovski stated that the two countries throughout the years have established bilateral relations and cooperation, which are traditionally based on friendship, mutual understanding and respect, and stressed the readiness for further development of mutual cooperation in all areas of common interest.

Ambassador Gazi Hamed Alfadli stated that he is fully prepared to encourage and strengthen relations between Kuwait and North Macedonia during his term.
