President Pendarovski receives credentials of new Polish Ambassador Grzelczyk

Skopje, 19 May 2023 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski received Friday the credentials of the newly appointed Polish Ambassador to North Macedonia, Krzysztof Grzelczyk.

Welcoming Ambassador Grzelczyk to North Macedonia, President Pendarovski wished him success in the performance of his duties and reaffirmed his satisfaction with the highly developed bilateral relations between the two friendly counties, which are characterized by traditional and sincere friendship, intensive political dialogue, and excellent trade and economic cooperation, sharing common European values of mutual understanding and respect.

"Let me express my immense gratitude for the unreserved, vocal support Poland has given to our European integration process, which the citizens of North Macedonia highly appreciate. We have no doubts that our Polish friends will continue to selflessly help North Macedonia become a part of the European family," said President Pendarovski.

Ambassador Grzelczyk said that the countries' nations, although geographically apart, have been connected by a special friendship for many years.

"More than three decades ago, North Macedonia decided to follow the path of independence and democracy. Despite the turbulent regional and international developments during these times, your country managed to stay on this course to this day, successfully building a multicultural society, resolving disputes and disagreements with neighbors, and contributing to the stability and development of the Western Balkans," Ambassador Grzelczyk stated.

In terms of the European integration process, the Ambassador expressed full support and solidarity not only from the Polish authorities, but the society as well.

"Regarding North Macedonia's process of integration into the European Union, I would like to assure you of the full support not only from Polish authorities, but also from the people," said Ambassador Grzelczyk. ssh/ik/
