Skopje, 29 August 2023 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski kicked off his official visit to the Czech Republic on Tuesday in Prague where he was welcomed by the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, with the highest state and military honors.

According to a press release from his Office, Pendarovski held a tête-à-tête meeting with President Pavel, during which they affirmed the friendly relations between the two countries. Their meeting was followed by a meeting of the two delegations.

“The topic of discussion at the meeting were the Macedonian aspirations for membership in the European Union, the partnership within NATO, as well as the situation in the broader region, in the context of the war in Ukraine,” said the press release.

President Pendarovski, said his Office, will meet with the President of the Senate of the Czech Parliament, Miloš Vystrčil, with the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, and with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.
