Skopje, 24 May 2023 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski extended Wednesday congratulations on occasion of May 24-Day of Pan-Slavic Educators Ss.Cyril and Methodius, wishing citizens lots of health, love and joy.

"By setting the foundations of literacy and spirituality among the Slavic peoples, Saints Cyril and Methodius' deed secured them the status of church saints but also gave them an indelible spot in world history, rightly earning the title of patron saints of Europe. As a result of their work, we Macedonians, as part of the Slavic family of nations, have the opportunity and blessing to develop our culture, art, education and science in our mother tongue. Eleven centuries after their passing, the universal work of the Salonica brothers exceeds religious, national and ideological frames, representing an example of humanism, altruism and righteousness," says President Pendarovski in the note.
