President Pendarovski and First Lady attend Queen Elizabeth II's funeral
Skopje, 19 September 2022 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski and First Lady Elizabeta Gjorgievska attended the state funeral service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at London's Westminster Abbey on Monday.
After the service, President Pendarovski attended the reception held by James Cleverly, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, his Office said in a press release.
On Sunday, President Pendarovski paid respects at Westminster Hall and signed the book of condolences at Lancaster House. Late in the day, the President attended the Buckingham Palace reception held for heads of delegations, hosted by His Majesty King Charles III.
Over 2,000 high-profile guests attended the Westminster Abbey funeral service. The bells tolled 96 times, marking the Queen's years. This is the first funeral service held for a monarch at the Abbey since the 18 century.
