Skopje, 6 January 2025 (MIA) — On the eve of Orthodox Christmas, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova sent her best wishes to all who celebrate the great holiday of the birth of Jesus Christ.

"Christmas was, is and will forever remain a sublime and bright Christian holiday, a symbol of life, love, respect and solidarity," President Siljanovska Davkova wrote in her Christmas message.

"The birth of Christ teaches and inspires us how to love, to spread peace and harmony, to help the helpless, to provide unconditional support and offer comfort.

"Christmas symbolizes the life-giving power of faith and hope, essential to human nature. Let's open our hearts to all people on this Christmas day, let's try to understand everyone's need for happiness, and let's contribute to social prosperity," Siljanovska Davkova wrote.

"Let's heed the pastoral call of the Macedonian Orthodox Church and enter the temples of God to strengthen our personal and national spirituality," she added. mr/
