Premiere screening of ‘Thorn’ documentary to close Asterfest film festival
Strumica, 9 August 2022 (MIA) – A special premiere screening of the Thorn documentary film by Stole Angelov and Nikola Pijanmanov will close the 17th edition of the Asterfest International Film Festival in Strumica on Tuesday.
The film is dedicated to actor and activist Stojan Velkov Trn [Thorn], and the production is by Strumica’s cultural organization Tranzen.
Janko Baljak’s documentary film Journal About Želimir Žilnik was screen as part of the festival on Monday, dedicated to this year’s Aster laureate and winner of the lifetime achievement award, Serbian filmmaker Želimir Žilnik.
Filmmaker Goran Trenchovski, the festival’s creator, said Žilnik’s presence at Asterfest brings great joy.
Several films were in the competition at this year’s Asterfest, and the jury panel presented on Sunday the Golden Horseshoe Award to Ali Asgari’s Witness.
