Skopje, 26 October 2022 (MIA) – The protest at the Post of North Macedonia has been suspended, the September wage is set to be paid by Friday, while the wage for the upcoming months will be paid within the legal deadline - this is the outcome of a meeting Wednesday of Minister of Transport and Communications, Blagoj Bochvarski and the Director of the Post Vasko Stefanov with the representatives of the trade unions, Boro Veligdenov and Mladen Stojanovski, accompanied by the President of the Federation of Trade Unions of Macedonia, Darko Dimovski, said the Ministry of Transport and Communications in a press release. The Ministry of Transport undertook the obligation to submit a report to the government and to oblige all state institutions at the next government session to use the services of the Post of North Macedonia, in line with the amendments of the Law on Postal Services. According to the obligations and the initiatives that emerged from the meeting, the Post of North Macedonia was obliged to draw up a plan for reducing non-productive expenses, to carry out a rationalization process in line with the government’s recommendations, and for its Managing Board to begin drafting a new systematization and partitioning of areas for maximum employee productivity. “The Government of North Macedonia will monitor the entire process of reorganization, rationalization and optimization of the operations of the Post of North Macedonia, a process set to begin immediately and last until December 31, 2022. The government will propose that the Postal Agency continue its monitoring and control of the postal market over the legal entities that have not received a general authorization for the provision of postal services, issued by the Postal Agency. With these positions, the protest is suspended and the affected sides are obliged to mutual support in the realization of the tasks,” said the Ministry. The President of the trade union of the Macedonian Post Veligdenov said since all of their demands have been accepted, the trade unions will suspend their warning protests and the general protest in front of the government announced for Saturday, as long as the agreement is fulfilled. “Our positions and demands were accepted at the meeting. If the deadlines for the payment of wages are not respected, then we will stage a general protest. It has also been agreed for the government to be a part of all the reorganization processes,” said Veligdenov. According to the press release, Minister Bochvarski stressed the support of his Ministry and the government and pointed out that only with joint commitment of all involved parties will it be possible to raise the quality of the postal services. The employees of the Post of North Macedonia kicked off daily warning protests a week ago, mainly demanding that their September wages be paid. The protests were held during the breaks at the postal branches in Skopje and the country. ad/nn/
