Skopje, 11 February 2023 (MIA) - Twenty-six individuals have been detained in a coordinated police operation on February 9-10, including searches of the homes, vehicles and businesses of 53 people believed to be involved in drug and arms trafficking, across 29 municipalities and the City of Skopje.

Searches were carried out in the regions of Skopje, Kumanovo, Ohrid, Bitola, Strumica, Veles, Tetovo and Shtip, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.

The searches resulted in the discovery of an improvised laboratory for marijuana production, as well as seizure of various narcotics, amphetamines, pills, equipment, rifles, guns, ammunition and cash, whereas all detainees are set to be charged for unlawful production and distribution of narcotics, and weapons possession and trading.
