Police find 20 migrants in vehicle at Gevgelija-Skopje motorway

Skopje, 6 March 2023 (MIA) - Police officers found 20 migrants in a cargo vehicle with Kumanovo register plates at motorway Gevgelija-Skopje early on Monday.

The driver fled the scene once police officers signalled him to stop the vehicle. Upon inspection, the police found 20 migrants, of whom 18 from Congo, one from Cameroon and one from Afghanistan, the MoI said in a press release.

The migrants have been transferred to the reception-transit center in Gevgelija for further processing.
