Skopje, 21 September 2023 (MIA) - Police officers detained on Wednesday a 27-year-old Macedonia national from Veles under the suspicion of migrant smuggling.

Upon inspecting the MAN vehicle with Veles register plates which was stopped on the Staro Nagorichane-Pelince regional road, the police found 44 migrants, including minors, from Palestine, Angola, Congo, Sudan, Pakistan, Ghana and Senegal, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release. 

The 27-year-old driver has been detained in a police station and will be charged accordingly.
