Skopje, 9 July 2022 (MIA) – Police discovered 87 migrants hiding in a truck on a major highway in the country’s south early on Saturday and arrested two men on suspicion of migrant smuggling. The two men, 43 and 26 years old, from Skopje and Skopje’s village of Arachinovo, were smuggling 87 migrants in the truck with Skopje register plates, police said in a press release. Police discovered 45 migrants from Syria, 39 from Pakistan, two from Congo and one from India in a routine check on main highway. Migrants will be transferred to a migrant reception center in the city of Gevgelija.
