Veles, 17 June 2024 (MIA) – At Monday's ceremony marking the 34th anniversary of the party at the national theater in Veles, VMRO-DPMNE leader and PM-designate Hristijan Mickoski stressed that as leader of a party that works for Macedonian national unity, he extends his hand to SDSM for dialogue on all major issues for the state and of importance to the citizens.

"Those unprincipled coalitions and negotiations under the table, I will not make them and I will not work behind their backs, nor does it occur to me to interfere with them. As the leader of a party that wishes and works for Macedonian national unity, I extend them my hand for dialogue on all major issues for the state and of importance to the citizens. I extend them a hand for Macedonian national unity on all important issues for the country. I wish they overcome the huge problems and sit down at the table to discuss the future of our homeland," said Mickoski. 

All this should not be taken as an amnesty from responsibility, Mickoski noted, stressing that he sees them as a partner with whom they share responsibility towards current and future generations for the creation of unique state positions.

"Of course, they should not in any way understand this as an amnesty from responsibility for the crimes, but it means that I will see them as a partner with whom we have a responsibility for the sake of current and future generations to work on creating unique state positions when it comes to the essential issues of importance for Macedonia," Mickoski said. 

In his address, he stressed that he will not succumb to topics that divide, noting the problems and poverty of the citizens. He said 600,000 people in the country live by only 150 denars a day, and there is chaos in healthcare.

"We will be resolving all issues with commitment. You will not be seeing double standards on my part, I will work in accordance with the Constitution and the laws in the country and I will not succumb to topics that distance and divide us. Today, 600,000 people live by 150 denars a day. Over 50,000 are outside the educational process. Farmers have problems. The students finished the school year without textbooks. There is chaos in healthcare, people die in hospitals waiting for medicine. These are the problems that we must resolve, and this is why the people truly voted for us," said Mickoski.
