PM says funds planned for increase of public administration wages in 2025

Skopje, 24 September 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told journalists Tuesday that funds for higher wages in education and other institutions are planned in a draft version of the budget for 2025.

“I expect a draft version of the budget for next year to be on the agenda of a government session next week, and then, as per procedure, in Parliament as well. So, there is a planned increase in the wages in education and other institutions depending on the possibilities. I expect the consolidation to end by the end of the year, a lot of debts, slowly but surely, are being repaid, and the Government’s account is getting out of the negative balance we inherited,” Mickoski said.

The Prime Minister said on June 24 the Government’s account was in the red by EUR 200 million, and now, he said, it is getting nearer to a “positive zero”, noting that he expects the Government’s account to be in the green as of October.
