Karbinci, 3 January 2026 (MIA) - Considering expectations, the pace of construction works on motorways across the country is more than excellent, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said on Saturday.

PM Mickoski told reporters that a 3km-long section of the Kichevo-Ohrid motorway has been recently put into use.

"I expect that we stick to the dates we have set. I am optimistic that we will put into use the section from Kichevo to Ohrid on Ilinden-August 2 or Independence Day-September 8, when we celebrate the country's 35th anniversary," said Mickoski.

The PM added that the tender for the Bukojchani-Kichevo section is complete and bids are currently evaluated.

"About 90 percent of the routes for the Bechtel & Enka projects are clear and the contractor is making progress. We are moving in the right direction and I congratulate all those involved in these projects," said Mickoski.
