Skopje, 31 October 2024 (MIA) - The process of thorough reforms of the Judicial Council will start next week, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said on Thursday.
PM Mickoski was asked by VMRO-DPMNE MP Antonijo Miloshoski if the Government expected a two-thirds majority for the Judicial Council reform.
Mickoski responded that a process of consultations and reforms would start in coordination with the Ministers of European Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Justice and Interior, as well as other stakeholders.
The PM expressed assurance that all MPs would vote for the reforms that have been recommended by the European Union, noting that the Government would secure the support.
"I am certain that all lawmakers in the Parliament will vote for such a reform that comes as a recommendation from the EU. If this fails to materialize, I am certain that the Government will secure a two-thirds majority for the reform and put an end to the captured Judicial Council, and a judiciary and prosecution that drags justice backwards," said Mickoski.
