Skopje, 14 October 2021 (MIA) – Rule of law prevents stability of crime. We are fighting against corruption and organized crime, which is multi-ethnic, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated in Skopje while attending the Western Balkans Summit, organized by The Economist. “Serbian and Albanian criminals cooperate very well. We will fight it at every cost,” Kurti said when asked to comment on yesterday’s unrest in the north of Kosovo and his country’s relations with Serbia. He explained that a police action was conducted in four municipalities in Kosovo, including Peja, Pristina, north Mitrovica and south Mitrovica. According to him, criminals, including Albanians and Serbs, cooperate there. “The judge and the prosecutor who issued a search warrant are Serbs. Many policemen are Serbs. The police officers who were injured were both Albanian and Serbian. Our fight against corruption shouldn’t be politicized. All of us in the Western Balkans should join forces to fight against organized crime. To do that, we need functioning democracy and rule of law,” PM Kurti told reporters at the Skopje summit.
