PM Kovachevski says culprits at Oncology Clinic to be held accountable, urges against politicization of case

Skopje, 4 September 2023 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said Monday no one would be exempted and urged against politicization of the case involving the Oncology Clinic and the allegations of illicit sale of cytostatic drugs.

"There will be no pressure - political, ethnic or any other - allowed. No matter the party, SDSM, VMRO or DUI, those who broke the law will be held accountable," said PM Kovachevski.

According to him, this is a multiparty and multiethnic crime that must be sanctioned.

"I understand the citizens who are protesting, their concern and their anger. The right to protest is welcome because it adds to the pressure on institutions to do their job swiftly," said Kovachevski.

The PM expects a professional and fast investigation that will identify individuals at fault, while urging against sensationalism and accusations against all doctors, "because our health sector has professional and wonderful doctors who take care for our well-being".

"Politicization of the case will only result in covering for someone. Enough is enough, citizens have been wanting to see a fight against crime and corruption for 30 years now," said Kovachevski.
