Skopje, 18 February 2022 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski met with United States Senator Chris Murphy at the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) on Friday, thanking him for the continued U.S. support to North Macedonia. “Senator Murphy, who is well acquainted with our region, expressed his strong support to the country, seen as a future member of the EU, thus completing its Euro-Atlantic status, which is of enormous importance from a security standpoint,” PM Kovachevski says in a Facebook post. Kovachevski and Murphy agreed over the importance of regional cooperation, which has intensified in recent years. “This is significant when it comes to opportunities for diversification of energy sources and stable supply,” says Kovachevski.
