PM Kovachevski meets leadership of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development
Skopje, 18 October 2022 (MIA) – A Government delegation led by Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski paid a visit Tuesday to the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), meeting with Director General Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, his deputy Khalifa Al Qubaisi and members of the fund management. ADFD is a governmental body and an international investor, which investments are estimated at billions of US dollars in North America, Europe and Asia, the Government said in a press release. PM Kovachevski is accompanied by Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi, Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupcho Nikolovski. Interlocutors agreed there is a big potential for development of North Macedonia-United Arab Emirates cooperation and UAE investments in the country. Government ministers presented the investment opportunities and discussed the options for cooperation on specific infrastructure projects, but also investments in the fields of agri-business, solar energy and tourism. In addition, discussions tackled investments in renewable sources and realization of the Green Agenda, digitization, innovations and contemporary technology, but also challenges that Europe and the world are facing amid the largest economic-energy crisis and ways to overcome them through realization of investments in infrastructure, innovations and new technologies. Both sides highlighted the commitment to build bilateral dialogue, leading to enhancement of mutual political and economic relations, reads the press release.
