Skopje, 23 May 2023 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski extended Tuesday a message of congratulations to members of the Vlach community in North Macedonia on National Day of the Vlachs – May 23.

PM Kovachevski emphasized that with the huge contribution and promotion of the principles of tolerance, trust, and respect, the Vlach community actively contributes in making North Macedonia a community for everyone.

"We pay due respect and huge recognition for the full support in nurturing and promoting interculturalism, social cohesion, and democratic values in North Macedonia," reads Kovachevski's message.

Sending sincere congratulations to the members of the Vlach community, the PM stresses this community has always been an inseparable part of our common fight for independence and statehood, and that its importance in the overall social, cultural, and democratic development of North Macedonia has been enormous.

"You have both mine and the Government's support for preserving and promoting the Vlach language, culture, and tradition. Through their protection, we protect not only Vlach identity, but also our shared one, the one we are proud of as a functioning democratic, multicultural, and multiethnic community, no matter where we come from. Only together can we overcome all challenges and ensure a quality life for our shared home - the Republic of North Macedonia," stresses PM Kovachevski. ssh/ik/
