Skopje, 30 November 2024 (MIA) — Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said he had not considered a meeting with opposition party leaders but he would think about it if there were an objective reason for it, he said Saturday when asked to comment on SDSM's request for a leadership meeting.

"I have not thought about it at this point," PM Mickoski said during a visit to Jegunovce.

"But in the days ahead, I will think about that topic. If there are real arguments toward it, why not. But at the moment I see no reason for any such thing, objectively," he said.  

SDSM Vice President Metodija Ilievski, speaking at a press conference earlier on Saturday, requested a leadership meeting of parliamentary political parties be urgently held.

"As a party that has always put the interests of citizens and the stability of the state first, the SDMS proposes the immediate holding of a meeting of all parliamentary political party leaders. This is our duty to citizens – our duty to show we are ready to deal with all challenges together and keep our country stable and peaceful," Ilievski told the press conference.

SDSM, he said, firmly believed that dialogue, understanding and working together were the only way forward. mr/
