Skopje, 25 January 2023 (MIA) – I have always condemned and will condemn violence of any kind. We should all be dignified in our conduct within the country and we expect all foreign nationals to behave in the same way when coming here, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski on Wednesday.

“I condemn all those who spread unrest and provoke in order to disrupt relations with our eastern neighbor. Institutions should proceed in line with the law regarding those who spread provocations and aim to damage relations within the country and among countries in the region. This relates to our citizens but also foreign nationals who want to come here,” PM Kovachevski told reporters in Shtip.

He said additional resources would be made available at the Ombudsman Office so that citizens can report irregularities, such as hate speech.

“The EU accession process is defined in the negotiating framework and goodneighborly relations are one of the basic aspects when joining the Union. All those who do not want to see us as EU member and provoke are against this, be it in our country but also in Bulgaria. We will use all mechanisms at disposal to prevent this from happening in the future, regardless of where the person is coming from,” said Kovachevski.

According to him, the Government will do everything to guarantee a peaceful and dignified observance of February 4 – the birth anniversary of revolutionary Goce Delchev.

“The specific activities are in the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Interior and are implemented on the basis of the Law on Foreigners, namely provisions regulating which person cannot enter the country due to activities that breach international relations and the country’s internal order, be it a politician or any other individual,” underlined Kovachevski.
