Petrovska to participate in International Defence and Security Exhibition in Athens

Athens, 9 May 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Defence Slavjanka Petrovska will participate in the International Defence and Security Exhibition DEFEA 2023, held May 9-11 in Athens. On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Defence Minister is expected to meet with her Greek counterpart Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos, MIA’s Athens correspondent reports.

 

According to the organizers, 346 exhibitors from 28 countries will participate in the exhibition, new weapon systems will be showcased, as well as innovative technologies and the latest achievements in the field of defence equipment from the domestic and international market, visitors from 77 countries are expected.

 

Apart from North Macedonia and the host Greece, the defence ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Italy, Romania and Slovakia are expected to attend as well.

“Greece’s upgraded geopolitical position and the country’s strategic choice to be a pillar of security and stability in the Southeastern Mediterranean is reflected in the high-level representation of friendly and allied countries at DEFEA. The highly successful event returns even bigger and more impressive this year, highlighting Greece as one of the key players in the wider Mediterranean and Balkan region,” the organizers said.

 

They add that the Exhibition represents “the ideal platform for fruitful dialogue on international relations and foreign policy issues.”
