Petrovska to attend Schuman Security and Defense Forum in Brussels, hold meetings with high NATO and EU representatives

Skopje, 20 March 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska is on a working visit to Brussels starting on Monday, as part of which she will participate in and address the First Schuman Security and Defense Forum upon the invitation of the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and will also hold several separate meetings with high political and military representatives of the NATO alliance and the EU, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.

According to the press release, the First Schuman Forum is being held under the slogan “Stronger Together in an Unstable World”, and is organized under the auspices of the High EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell.

The goal of the Forum is to strengthen the cooperation between the relevant global and regional actors in the field of security and defense and to be a forum which will discuss key security issues and the ways in which international peace and security can be strengthened.

High representatives from the 27 EU member states and 45 partner states are invited to participate in the Forum, including 20 defense ministers, and representatives of international and regional organizations such as the United Nations, NATO, OSCE, the African Union, ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the League of Arab States. Non-governmental organizations, think tank organizations and representatives of academia will also participate in the Forum. ad/sk/
