Petrol and diesel prices record surge
Skopje, 7 March 2022 (MIA) – The price of petrol as of midnight rises by 5.5 denars per liter and of diesel by 10 denars, the Energy Regulatory Commission has decided Monday. The decision comes on the heels of a record-breaking surge in all oil derivatives on markets worldwide. The Commission said decisions, if necessary, will be made on daily basis. Oil prices alongside the dollar exchange rate have been rising around the world, which affects the final price, according to Energy Regulatory Commission President Marko Bislimoski. “Due to the complex geopolitical situation affecting energy prices in an effort to secure stability on the market of oil derivatives and to protect the consumers from price hikes, the Commission will make decisions on daily basis. This principle will be applied every time amid extreme daily changes of stock market prices,” he stated. According to him, there are enough oil derivatives, however, prices have hiked all across Europe. “It is necessary everyone to act rationally amid such extraordinary and unpredictable situation. Nobody could predict how long it would last and what would be the aftermath,” Bislimoski stated. Oil prices on world stock markets have been raising over 21%, said the Commission. According to the Commission’s latest decision, EUROSUPER BS-95 as of midnight will be sold for 89.50 denars per liter. EUROSUPER BS-98 is 91.50 denars per liter. Diesel’s new price is 85.50 denars per liter. Extra light household fuel increased by 9 denars, meaning it will be sold for 83.50 denars per liter. Mazut price goes up by 6.149 denars per kilogram, meaning the new price is 54.319 denars per kilogram.
