Sofia, 11 December 2021 (MIA) – The new Bulgarian government, helmed by Kiril Petkov, will adopt a joint position with coalition partners over the dispute with North Macedonia, MIA reports from Sofia. According to Petkov, both Bulgaria and North Macedonia will benefit from good neighborly relations, adding that the joint position will require mutual respect and trust. “It will also require good communication with coalition partners and a lot of work,” Petkov noted. He added that Bulgaria retains its current position, but stressed the need for change. “We want to work on different issues and ensure that joint efforts and communication lead to good-neighborliness,” said the PM designate, adding that the government will defend Bulgaria’s national interests. He presented on Saturday the composition of the new Bulgarian government featuring representatives from four parties and coalitions. The new government will also have five Deputy PMs and 17 Ministers. Teodora Genchovska will be Minister of Foreign Affairs. Previously, she was a candidate for Defence Minister. Genchovska has also worked as an advisor to the Bulgarian President.
