Skopje, 17 October 2023 (MIA) — President Stevo Pendarovski received Tuesday the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau based in Moscow, Alfredo Cristóvão Gomes Lopes.

According to an official press release, President Pendarovski voiced his confidence that the ambassador would contribute to promoting diplomatic ties and bilateral cooperation by initiating specific activities.

"Through intensifying political dialogue between the two countries in the near future, we are ready to seize opportunities for economic cooperation as well as cooperation in the sphere of culture, art, education and many other areas of potential common interest," Pendarovski said at the credentials ceremony.

Ambassador Gomes Lopes, the release says, noted that the Republic of Guinea-Bissau was still in its early development as a country and said he was looking forward to initiating cooperation with North Macedonia for the benefit of both nations. mr/
