Skopje, 22 September 2023 (MIA) — President Stevo Pendarovskiin New York on Thursday had a bilateral meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.

According to an official press release, this was the first time that the countries' heads of state had met.

The presidents expressed interest in exploring ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and bring the two countries closer after diplomatic ties were first established in 2019, the release says.

Meeting participants noted there were opportunities for developing political dialogue at all levels, boosting economic cooperation, and strengthening cooperation in multilateral organizations.

President Pendarovski expressed his interest in promoting economic cooperation, welcoming visits of business delegations, which have become more intense as of late, the release adds. mr/
