Skopje, 6 September 2023 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski met Wednesday with participants of the Skopje Cultural Diplomacy Forum 2023, co-organized by the Office of the former President of the country, Gjorgje Ivanov, the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy-Berlin, the City of Skopje and the International Center Alliance of Civilizations.

"At the meeting, attended by the former head of state of Bulgaria, Petar Stoyanov, and the former Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Mladen Ivanic, as well as the ex-PMs of Moldova and Lebanon, Natalya Gavrilita and Hassan Diab respectively, President Pendarovski was briefed on the forum’s goals, aimed at improving international relations by promoting democracy, unity and peace through cultural diplomacy in a new era of conflict and violence," the President’s Office said in a press release.

The President welcomed the holding of the forum and stressed the importance of cultural diplomacy in promoting the overall relations between nations and improving the international visibility of the countries.

"Participants in the meeting exchanged views on the current developments in the wider region, the war in Ukraine, as well as North Macedonia's EU integration process," the press release adds. ssh/nn/
