Pendarovski meets Mitsotakis, Emié, Lagarde in Davos

Skopje, 25 May 2022 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski met Wednesday with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Director of France’s General Directorate for External Security (DGSE), Bernard Emié, and European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde at the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
President Pendarovski and PM Mitsotakis expressed readiness for further enhancement of bilateral relations and exchanged opinions on North Macedonia’s Euro-integration perspectives and challenges in the region related to security and economy, his Office said in a press release.
Pendarovski and Emié discussed the Russian military aggression in Ukraine, developments in Southeast Europe and the EU prospects of regional countries. Considering the current security challenges and potential risks, the President noted the importance of intensified cooperation among security agencies of NATO member-states.
Pendarovski and Lagarde exchanged opinions on the global economic trends and measures undertaken to mitigate the financial effects of the war in Ukraine. In this regard, interlocutors discussed the effects of ECB’s monetary policy on the economies of North Macedonia and the region, reads the press release.
