Ohrid, 18 March 2023 (MIA) — Good news from the Ohrid talks will benefit the entire region and not only the negotiating parties, President Stevo Pendarovski said commenting on the EU-mediated Ohrid meeting between Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti held as part of negotiations to normalize the countries’ relations.

Asked about the course of the talks and any expectations of the outcome, President Pendarovski said he could not comment on it. "We are not part of the negotiations, but only the hosts," he highlighted.

“I did meet with President Vucic and Prime Minister Kurti,” Pendarovski said, “but I just welcomed them and wished them success. Which is to say that I cannot tell [the outcome] as we are not at the negotiating table. Macedonia is just the host and I assure you that we will be excellent hosts. I suppose that this can contribute, even a little, to a positive outcome of these talks.” mr/
