Skopje, 19 December 2023 (MIA) - North Macedonia's Euro-integration process in the context of the completed screening process and the recent European Council decisions were in the focus of discussions of President Stevo Pendarovski and United States Ambassador Angela Aggeler on Tuesday.

Pendarovski and Aggeler agreed on the need for continued commitment to the European integration process, considering that EU accession negotiations would ensure a positive transformation of the society's democratic capacities, open opportunities for larger economic prosperity, exchange of goods and services, as well as increased mobility of the population in the fields of education and professional development, the President's Office said in a press release.

Interlocutors exchanged opinions on the situation in the region and security developments in the broader area, the war in Ukraine and events in the Middle East.

Pendarovski expressed satisfaction from the stable and dynamic Macedonian-US partnership, highlighting that North Macedonia and its citizens highly value Washington's support.

The President expressed assurance that the US support would continue in the upcoming period as guarantee of peace, stability and prosperity of the region, reads the press release.
