Skopje, 24 April 2023 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski met Monday with the Austrian Federal Minister of Defense, Klaudia Tanner, who is on an official visit to North Macedonia. At the meeting, the two spoke about the overall cooperation between the two countries in the area of defense.

According to a press release from the President’s Office, Pendarovski and Tanner exchanged opinions and information about the implementation of the plan for bilateral cooperation in defense between the two countries for 2023, which contains several activities in the area of defense policy, military logistics, crisis management, as well as various courses and training for military staff.

President Pendarovski assessed that Austria is one of the most vocal supporters of North Macedonia’s EU integration, and voiced his gratitude for the overall Austrian support, including the process of reforms and development in the field of defense and security, and expressed his expectations for further improvement of bilateral cooperation.
