Party open to all who can make contribution, says SDSM leader Kovachevski
Skopje, 27 December 2021 (MIA) – SDSM leader Dimitar Kovachevski ahead of the party’s Central Board session on Monday evening announced a new policy based on social and democratic values, a chance for all members who meet conditions to be assigned to a position and opening the party to everyone who can make a contribution. He noted that distinction between party officials is not based old and new, but on their efforts for strengthening the party. “The new program will be based on social and democratic values, a fair chance for all members who meet professional conditions to be assigned to positions on institutional level. Moreover, we’re opening the party to everyone who can contribute to its enhancement,” Kovachevski underlined. He refused to comment whether some of the former party officials will join the Executive Board, which is being elected Monday evening. “I don’t distinguish between old and new officials, but based on how much they’ve contributed to the party. Let’s leave the decision-making to the Central Board,” Kovachevski added. Moreover, he said that he’s set to propose an Executive Board made up of equal number of men and women, in order to ensure gender equality, something which SDSM stands for, as well as 33% young people, another party priority. He underlined that Executive Board members will come from all parts of the country. Asked whether he can unite the party, Kovachevski told reporters that the party is already united. SDSM vice-president Sanja Lukarevska said ahead of the session that the party is set to elect on Monday evening vice-presidents and Executive Board members. “They will represent every aspect of society and the public is familiar with all of them. This renewed and progressive team will achieve results,” Lukarevska noted. He added that ministerial positions won’t be discussed Monday evening, but at the next session of the Central Board.
