Parliamentary majority rejects VMRO-DPMNE motion on delay of passports' validity

Skopje, 28 February 2024 (MIA) - The ruling majority in Parliamernt voted Wednesday against putting the amendments to the Law on Passports on the agenda, a motion submitted by VMRO-DPMNE to delay the validity of the passports designated "Republic of Macedonia" until their expiration date.
VMRO-DPMNE whip Nikola Micevski said the amendments were required due to the violation of the constitutional right of the citizen for freedome of moment.
Lawmakers endorsed the SDSM motion to amend laws that would result in restricting the possibility for significant or new increase of officials' wages.
MPs also voted to put laws on four strategic investment projects on the agenda. These include the Mitilineos co-generation facility Skopje, Solar Park Stipion, AIM Green Tech, and solar power station Pehchevo.
