Skopje, 13 February 2023 (MIA) – Parliament is set to resume the session on the reshuffle of the government on Tuesday at 12 pm. MPs debated on Monday the proposal on dismissal of the ministers from Alternativa ranks, who did not resigned prior to election of members of the government from the Alliance for Albanians (AA), new coalition partner.
MP Safije Sadiki Shaini from Alternativa, a party that is leaving the government coalition with this government reschuffle, pointed out that at yesterday's party meeting, they adopted a position to act as an opposition and that is a finished topic for them.
According to her, the ministers and deputy ministers of their party did not resign for two reasons, they have no responsibility to resign and they do not want to be the reason and facilitate the work of a man who, as she said, does not know how thank, because a year ago he became prime minister with the votes of Alternativa.
She said that "Alternative's actions contributed to North Macedonia and Albania getting a date for opening negotiations with the EU". According to the Alternativa MP, SDSM unilaterally violated the agreement that the previous president of the ruling party signed with them, accusing the Social Democrats of disrespect.
VMRO-DPMNE MP Aleksandar Nikolovski, referring to the Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski's speech at the beginning of the session, said that it was without substance and with many platitudes, and he equated the entry of one and the exit of another coalition partner with "political corruption". He asked how AA would fight against DUI if they were in the same government and pointed out that with that the elections lose their meaning.
Nikolovski said that he does not know such a president of AA, Arben Taravari, and asked if it was blackmail and if the price was a nice house in Taftalidze, which he received as a gift, urging the state commission for the prevention of corruption to investigate how Taravari bought a house in the Skopje neighborhood Taftalidze for 500 euros per square meter.
Parliament verified Monday the resignations of Justice Minister Nikola Tupancheski, Environment Minister Naser Nuredini, Deputy Minister of Health Vladimir Rendevski and Deputy Minister of Justice Agim Nuhiu.
MPs will discuss the dismissal of Health Minister Bekim Sali, Minister of Information Society and Administration Admirim Aliti, and Minister for the Diaspora Xhemail Cupi, all three from the ranks of coalition partner Alternativa.
