Skopje, 28 August 2021 (MIA) – Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi sent a note of congratulations Saturday on the great Christian holiday, the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, to all Orthodox believers in North Macedonia. “I wish you good health, peace of mind and joy in the homes, as well as respect and harmony between citizens. Unfortunately, challenges we’ve been facing, accompanied by the pain and difficulties brought on by the coronavirus pandemic still loom above us. So, I urge you dear citizens to celebrate responsibly, abide by protocols and show respect for yourselves, your families and fellow citizens,” Xhaferi stressed, extending gratitude and support for health workers. He called on citizens to find strength within themselves to adjust to the new normal and make things easier for social stakeholders. “All faiths teach us to nurture positive values, which are further strengthened during holidays. Let the spirit and message of compassion and understanding guide all those who celebrate this holiday,” read Xhaferi’s note.
