Skopje, 6 June 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi held his first meeting with Swedish Ambassador Ami Larsson Jain on Thursday, the Parliament said in a press release. 

Parliament Speaker Gashi thanked Sweden for the continued support over the country's path to full EU membership, adding that he expects the support to continue.

According to the press release, the ratification of Sweden's NATO accession protocol is also in the direction of the good cooperation; as is the formation of a parliamentary group for the cooperation between both parliaments with the new parliamentary composition.

Swedish Ambassador Larsson Jain expressed her gratitude for the support over Sweden's NATO accession protocol. She also confirmed their further commitment to strengthening mutual relations.

"Interlocutors reiterated the need to continue the great bilateral relations and numerous developmental projects," the press release reads. ssh/ba/
