Parliament holds first coordination meeting 

Skopje, 3 June 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi held the first regular coordination meeting of the new parliamentary composition on Monday, which, according to a press release from the legislature, mainly focused on the constituting of Parliament’s committees and informal working bodies.

According to the press release, Gashi informed the representatives of the parties that towards the end of the working week Parliament is expected to hold a new session to verify the mandates of the remaining two MPs, which weren’t verified at the session on May 28.  

Regarding the establishment of committees, the representatives assessed the possibility of initially choosing the chairs and members of the Legislative Committee and the Committee on Political System in the coming days, due to the deadlines for the election of the new government, followed by all other working bodies of the legislature.  

In addition to Gashi and Parliament’s Secretary General Cvetanka Ivanova, the meeting was attended by the representatives of all parliamentary parties i.e., coalitions – Nikola Micevski from VMRO-DPMNE's coalition, Oliver Spasovski from SDSM’s coalition, Blerim Bexheti from the DUI-led European Front, Halil Snopçe from VLEN, Boban Karapejovski from the ZNAM Movement, and Borislav Krmov from Levica.
