Skopje, 29 September 2023 (MIA) - The Parliament resumed Friday the 126th session by discussing the draft-decision on reallocation of funds among Budget beneficiaries.

Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi elaborated the decision, saying the main objective is to meet the needs following the collective agreement with unions over an increase of public sector salaries by ten percent, payment of a holiday bonus in the amount of Mden 10,000 (EUR 170), as well as funds for a six-percent increase of pensions in accordance to the law. Social transfers are also increased, whereas funds are also allocated for the procurement of medicines for cystic fibrosis and diabetes patients.

"The reallocation stands at about EUR 300 million without affecting the projected deficit. Funds are also provided for student scholarships and meals, textbooks for elementary and secondary education, management of diseases among domestic animals etc," said Besimi.

The FinMin added that the reallocation was made from items where the realization dynamics is slower, through savings and increased revenues from contributions.
