Skopje, 22 March 2024 (MIA) - As part of events marking Francophonie Month, the third "Paris Reflections" exhibit is set to open at the National Gallery’s Chifte Amam on Friday.

The exhibit, which explores the Parisian influences on the great masters of Macedonian art, is organized by the French Institute-Skopje and the National Gallery. 

"Paris Reflections 3" will showcase a selection of works from the third generation of Macedonian artists who completed a study stay in Paris - either as winners of the "Mosha Pijade" state award at the time or through specializations and supplementing their education, or part of their work was simply somehow connected to the French capital as the center of world art.

"Thus, each with their own creative credo, they influenced the development of Macedonian art, especially in the domain of transmitting and deepening the influences of art informel, surrealism, new figuration, geometricism and other current world trends," the organizers say. 

The selection features works of artists born after 1930, including Nove Frangovski, Dushan Perchinkov, Rodoljub Anastasov, Tanas Lulovski, Risto Kalchevski, Ana Temkova, Gligor Chemerski, Dragutin Avramovski - Gute, Kiril Efremov, Aleksandar Risteski, Vasko Tashkovski, Kiril Gegoski, Milosh Kodzhoman, Violeta Chaule, Taki Pavlovski, Rubens Korubin, Done Miljanovski, Blagoja Nikolovski, Boro Mitrikjeski, Stefan Manevski, Vasil Vasilev, Dragan Poposki Dada and Boris Nikolovski. 

The exhibition is curated by Maja Chankulovska-Mihajlovska. All works on display are part of the National Gallery's colection.  

French Ambassador Cyrille Baumgartner and National Gallery head Dita Starova Qerimi will open the exhibit.
