Skopje, 7 December 2023 (MIA) - A pre-trial judge of the Skopje-based Criminal Court has ordered a 30-day detention for the person who drove Ljupcho Palevski, the prime suspect in the murders of Vanja Gjorchevska and Panche Zhezhovski, from Serbia to Turkey, the Court told MIA on Thursday.
The detention order has been issued due to flight risk.
Earlier, the Skopje Prosecutor's Office said it filed a motion for detention because the person helped Palevski escape by picking him up in a company-owned Land Rover with Strumica register plates from Belgrade. On December 2, they headed to Bulgaria and then Turkey, where they stayed up to December 3, when the suspect headed back alone to North Macedonia via Greece and was detained at the Star Dojran border crossing.
