Skopje, 21 September 2023 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met on Thursday with Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström on the margins of the 78th session of UN General Assembly.

At the meeting, Osmani thanked for the continued Sweden’s support to North Macedonia’s EU path, highlighting Sweden’s active role for the progress of reform processes in the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

“We strongly appreciate Sweden's commitment to be our partner and key financial supporter for achieving significant reform results that will bring us closer to the European family,” Osmani said.

Minister Billström welcomed the efforts of our country to achieve the strategic determination for our membership in the EU as soon as possible and reaffirmed that the Swedish support will continue in the future.

Osmani and Billström expressed their satisfaction with the development of bilateral ties between the two countries, which this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and welcomed the dynamic and continuous political dialogue, voicing confidence that two countries will work dedicatedly in the coming period on dynamization of sectoral cooperation and intensifying mutual support in various multilateral formats.
